How Country of Clubs researches and presents Club information
Country of Clubs is an independent research directory designed to make golf and country club information easier to find, understand and compare. We organize published membership costs, amenities, golf facilities, policies and location details into structured Club profiles.
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting as an agent for the Clubs listed in this directory. Club information can change, and visitors should confirm current prices, availability and policies directly with the Club before making a decision.
Core principles
Evidence before completeness
Unknown is not zero
A blank price is not treated as free, and a missing amenity is not treated as absent. It means that the detail has not yet been documented confidently enough to publish.
Sources before claims
Important factual claims—especially membership costs—are presented with source information whenever suitable evidence is available.
Comparable facts only
We avoid combining or comparing prices when currencies, billing periods or explicitly named membership categories are incompatible.
Research process
Sources and verification
Research may use official Club websites, published membership materials, fee schedules, application documents, course and association records, institutional directories, reputable publications and other attributable public sources.
Official Club material is generally preferred for current contact details, facilities, membership categories and policies. A source being listed does not mean that every statement on that source has been adopted or independently verified by Country of Clubs.
One source, one ledger entry: when the same source supports several parts of a Club profile, it is listed once and labelled with the categories it supports. This keeps the source section useful without repeating the same link throughout the page.
Sources can become outdated. Whenever possible, the profile identifies useful context such as the membership category, billing period, effective year or type of charge associated with a price.
Membership research
How membership pricing is presented
Club profiles may include initiation fees, recurring dues, membership or golf-access fees, green fees and separately documented additional charges. Not every type of price applies to every Club or access model.
Exact amounts and ranges
When a source establishes one amount, the profile may show that amount. When documented prices vary, minimum and maximum figures may be shown as a range.
Membership context
Where available, a price is paired with its membership category, billing period, effective year and relevant eligibility or access conditions.
Additional charges
Assessments, food and beverage minimums, cart plans, locker charges, guest fees and similar costs are shown separately when documented. They are not silently added to another figure.
A published amount is not a quote or guarantee. Fees may depend on membership class, age, residency, family status, payment schedule, availability or other conditions not fully described in a public source.
Cost calculation
Documented minimum first-year membership cost
When compatible initiation and recurring-dues figures are available, Country of Clubs may calculate a conservative first-year budgeting floor.
Calculation
Lowest usable initiation figure + annualized recurring dues
Monthly dues are multiplied by 12, quarterly dues by four and annual dues by one. The calculation is made only when the currencies match and any explicitly named membership categories are compatible.
If either required component is unavailable, the currencies conflict, the categories clearly refer to different memberships or the dues period cannot be annualized safely, no first-year figure is shown.
This is a documented minimum—not a complete first-year quote. Unknown assessments, taxes, minimum spending requirements, cart charges, application fees and other expenses are excluded unless they have been separately documented.
Data interpretation
How missing and unconfirmed information is handled
Club pages are conditional: a section appears when useful information is available and remains hidden when it has nothing reliable to show. This prevents empty headings and placeholder text from overwhelming the page.
- Blank does not mean No. It normally means unknown, unavailable or not yet researched.
- Zero is not assumed. Missing prices and charges are never treated as free.
- Research gaps remain visible to editors. Missing facts can be targeted in later research exports.
- Unresolved conflicts are not silently published. Conflicting imports require a decision or remain excluded.
Directory tools
How Finder, Compare and Nearby results work
Confirmed-only filters
When a visitor requires a particular amenity, membership type or researched characteristic, a Club matches only when that detail has been confirmed. An unknown value is not treated as either Yes or No.
Apples-to-apples comparisons
The comparison tool presents structured Club facts side by side. Price comparisons are limited when currency, billing period or membership-category differences would make the figures misleading.
Nearby distance
Nearby searches use documented coordinates and straight-line distance. They do not represent driving distance, travel time or route availability.
Directory inclusion versus search indexing
A real Club may appear in Finder, Compare or Nearby results even when its individual profile remains noindex. This allows visitors to use available facts without presenting an incomplete profile to search engines as a finished editorial page.
Publication quality
How Club profiles qualify for indexing
Creating or publishing a Club page does not automatically make it eligible for search indexing. Indexable profiles must pass the directory’s quality requirements.
These requirements include a usable Club identity and location, a qualifying Club-specific membership or access price, enough useful public facts across substantive sections and the absence of unresolved duplicate, closure or publication-exclusion issues.
A qualifying access price may be an initiation fee, recurring dues or—where appropriate to the Club’s access model—a documented membership, golf-pass or public-play price.
Noindex does not mean the Club is invalid. It means the profile does not currently satisfy every requirement for independent search indexing. As research improves, the profile can be reassessed.
Editorial maintenance
Updates, corrections and community information
Club profiles may show an information-updated date after substantive structured facts are changed. This date reflects an update to the Country of Clubs record, not necessarily the publication date of every source used.
Visitors and Club representatives may suggest factual corrections. Suggestions do not overwrite canonical Club data automatically. They are placed into an editorial review workflow where they can be checked, approved, published as a community note or dismissed.
Approved community notes are displayed separately from structured Club facts so readers can distinguish submitted context from the directory’s canonical record.

Confirm important decisions directly with the Club
Country of Clubs provides research and comparison information, not financial, legal or membership advice. A listed price does not guarantee eligibility, availability or acceptance into a Club.
Before applying, visiting or making a payment, confirm current fees, assessments, waiting-list status, membership conditions, operating hours and policies directly with the Club.
