The idea for Sahalee began in 1965 when members of two Seattle-area clubs independently sought a new championship course.
Sahalee Country Club was incorporated in September 1967 after the founders acquired land on the Sammamish Plateau.
The first 18 holes of Sahalee opened on August 9, 1969.
The remaining nine holes of the 27-hole complex opened in 1970.
